I don’t usually take the time to write long reviews, but after owning this table for a few months now I felt like it deserved one. Before buying this, I spent a ridiculous amount of time researching different pool tables. I went back and forth between getting a full-size table or something more compact, mainly because our basement space isn’t huge. Eventually I came across this Hathaway Fairmont folding pool table and it seemed like the perfect middle ground, but I’ll admit I was still a little hesitant at first.

After using it for a while now, I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations in just about every way.

The first thing that surprised me was the build quality. Since it’s a folding table, I originally assumed it might feel a little flimsy or lightweight. That wasn’t the case at all. Once the legs are unfolded and locked into place, the table actually feels very solid and stable. There’s no wobbling when someone leans on it or when you’re taking harder shots. It feels much sturdier than I expected for something that’s designed to fold up for storage.

The playing surface is also really smooth. The felt looks great and the balls roll consistently across the table without any weird bumps or slow spots. I’ve played pool casually for years at bars and friends’ houses, and for a table in this price range it plays surprisingly well. Obviously it’s not meant to compete with a $4,000 tournament table, but for home use it absolutely delivers a fun and satisfying game.

Another thing I really appreciate is the size. The 6-foot length is actually perfect for smaller spaces like basements, apartments, or game rooms where a full 8-foot table might be too much. It still feels big enough to play proper games without feeling cramped, but it doesn’t completely take over the entire room.

The folding feature ended up being way more useful than I originally thought too. Our basement doubles as a workout area sometimes, so being able to fold the legs and move the table when we need the space is a huge bonus. It’s nice knowing we’re not permanently committing an entire room to a pool table.

The accessories that come with it were another nice surprise. Everything you need to start playing is included right out of the box — cues, balls, chalk, rack, and brush. That meant the night it arrived we were already setting up games without needing to order anything extra.

But the best part honestly has been how much it gets used.

I originally bought this thinking it would mostly be something for when friends came over occasionally. Instead, it’s turned into something we use almost every day. My kids love playing after school, and on weekends we’ll end up playing several games in a row without even realizing how much time has passed. A few of my friends have come over and they were genuinely surprised when I told them it was a folding table.

It’s one of those purchases that actually brings people together. Instead of everyone sitting around on their phones or watching TV, we end up standing around the table talking, laughing, and playing games. It sounds simple, but it’s been really great for the atmosphere in the house.

Visually, the table looks great too. The black finish paired with the blue felt gives it a clean, classic pool table look that fits really well in our basement. It doesn’t look cheap or toy-like the way some smaller game tables do.

If someone is looking for a space-friendly pool table that still feels like the real thing, I honestly think this is a fantastic option. It’s well built, fun to play on, easy to set up, and the folding feature makes it practical for homes that don’t have unlimited space.

Looking back, I’m really glad we decided to get this. It’s become one of the most used things in our house, and it’s definitely brought a lot more fun into our evenings and weekends.
